Everyone by now has heard about Social Media Marketing , Search Engine Optimization and Solid Marketing Campaigns, but what do these really mean to you when you are just trying to start your web presense?

The first thing that may come to your mind when you hear social media is probably facebook, but there are many more places like linkedin and the newest google plus and I am sure there will be others in the near future. These are places where you will meet friends, family, and business colleagues among others, but each of those people is a critical contact for any business, because they may not have a connection to your work, or need your services, but the chances are one of their contacts will need you. This is where careful judgement of what you put on the web can, to be cliche, either make or break you.

Social Media Marketing is also any piece of interactive data. This would include please text hello to 5555 to enter to win blah blah blah. caveat emptor: Please do not text to that number!!

Social Media needs to be targeted to the right people, limited in the number of updated posts, short informational text only and provide a discount or give away.

People do not respond to the simple, “I will be at such an event be sure to check me out.”

But they will respond to, “Come check out this awesome band/event/place because I will be there and giving away free blanks!”

Oh, and always list the largest number first:
Buy one for 10 and get one for 5
Try reversing that and it will be a bad sales day.

These quick little changes will increase your net profit! This applies to all marketing!!

Search Engine Optimization:

Oh dear, another buzz word that we know is important, but why?

Search engines send out “spiders” these spiders are looking for specific bits of information like: location,
